| Guest | context menu for current folder in explorer? Hi, in all prior Windows versions, there was an folder icon in the topleft corner of the explorer. When you right click it, or drag-drop it, it acts as the folder you're just viewing. This does not work with Vista - at least for me. Where has it gone? My very problem in detail: - How to get the "Command Here" menu for the "current" folder - not a sub folder -- ------------------------------------ Gernot Frisch http://www.glbasic.com |

Can you do it by using the Properties panel at the bottom? Quote: > This does not work with Vista - at least for me. I really do remember finding a replacement for that behaviour somewhere. ss. |

| Guest | Re: context menu for current folder in explorer? Gernot, Hold down the shift key and right-click on the folder. I have a choice of Open Command Window Here. Now, to be honest, I don't remember whether that's one of the normal extra goodies that show when you hold down shift as you right click or whether that goodie was added by one of the .reg files that I downloaded from one of Shawn's tutorials on Vistax64forum. | Guest | Re: context menu for current folder in explorer? "Open Command Window Here" is a built-in option in Windows Vista. Hold the SHIFT key down, and right-click on the folder. You should see the "Open Command Window here" option. -- Regards, Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows Shell/User] The Winhelponline Blog: http://www.winhelponline.com/blog Windows® Troubleshooting: http://www.winhelponline.com "Gernot Frisch" <me@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:6eods3F85cn5U1@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi, > > in all prior Windows versions, there was an folder icon in the topleft > corner of the explorer.
