    Screen Saver won't work

I have Vista on a desktop computer and the screen saver won't come on. Also,
none of the power management works. To test, I set the time to 1 minute and
it does not come on at all.

I have a fairly recent flat panel monitor. Does this damage the monitor for
the screen saver to not work?

    Thanks

The screen saver does not work when you use a Microsoft wireless pointing device on a
    Windows Vista-based computer

I do not want to get anything going here, BUT I have Vista Ultimate; the wife has Vista Home version and we BOTH have a Microsoft wireless mouse & keyboard and the screen saver(s) work just fine. I have tested them ALL.

Solution could be something else, maybe?

I get the black screen once in a while. Here's what I do ....

I go to the Personalization... Screen Saver ...

Then, I move to another screen saver ... APPLY.

Then, I move back to the screen saver I like ... APPLY.

    OKAY.

    As simple as that.

Have you tried to just click on the desktop as well? It could be that
Windows is selecting a new application to make active and that is preventing
you from getting the screensaver up.
