| | Rollback Windows XP upgrade to Vista? Hi all, I tried to upgrade Windows XP to Vista. However, before the upgrade completed, the system could not load some of the new drivers. It stopped booting and the upgrade did not finish. From the system recovery option I tried startup repair. It was not successful. I have two questions: 1. When running startup repair I noticed it made backup of my original boot file. Can anyone tell me the location where this backup file get saved? (I am trying to use bcdedit /import to go back to my original boot screen and from there use the option OS rollback to Windows XP.) 2. Or, what would be the direct command line to rollback the OS upgrade to Windows XP? Thanks for any advice I can get! Thomas |

| | RE: Rollback Windows XP upgrade to Vista? In addition, once you install Windows Vista RC1, you cannot roll back to the previous operating system installation—you will either have to acquire and install the final released edition of Windows Vista or reinstall a previous edition of Windows. Before installing Windows Vista RC1 on any computer, please remember to back up all your files.
