User Account Control...

Ok, I turned it off, on purpose.
Now how can I get my laptop to stop telling me I have to check my settings,
because User Account Control is turned off?!?!?

Re: User Account Control...

Well not sure if you can turn off that warning only
because I have never tried turning it off, and don't really
wish to, but
In the Security Center
Start
Control Panel
Security
Security Center
It may be an option in the
Other Security Setting part near the bottom.
but if you really hate all the warnings from the Security Center
there is a link on the left side for
Change the way security center warns me
and you can turn all warnings off completely.
(not recommended of course)

Hope that helps ya.

If you are comfortable editing the registry you can leave the warning notification settings as default and just disable
the tray icon by deleting this registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{FD6905CE-952F-41F1-9A6F-135D9C6622CC}

Navigate to the key, right-click and select Export and select Selected branch.
Save the reg file as IconRestore.reg
Then delete the key.

Re: User Account Control...

Hello Mike,

This tutorial may be able to help you. It will show you how to only disable specific alerts from the Security Center instead of just disabling all of the alerts.

Security Center Specific Alert Notification

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I always do. It is useless and annoying if you know your way around the
computer a bit.

So is the way that Display Properties has been broken up and scattered
around.
