| | RealPlayer & Windows Media Players resoltuion Hello all, After installing Vista and playing the video clips that I downloaded when I was using Windows XP, the video resolution seems lower (video images more 'blockky'). My monitor was the same in both operating systems. When I played this videos, I did get a message that says somehting like that "format being converted to Vista Basic colour scheme' (Not exact wording). Does this effect the video resolution? Thanx in advance. L & L |

| | Re: RealPlayer & Windows Media Players resoltuion I thought it was just me! I find the videos I have watched in Vista horrible as compared to XP. Even DVD's do not look as good, and I have a BETTER graphics card in the Vista Machine (GeForce 512MB 8800 GT in Vista vs. 256MB 6800GS in XP) "LiveAndLearn" <LiveAndLearn@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:124F4F14-2673-466E-9CD8-660B0C3E25D3@xxxxxx Quote: > Hello all, > > After installing Vista and playing the video clips that I downloaded when > I > was using Windows XP, the video resolution seems lower (video images more > 'blockky'). > > My monitor was the same in both operating systems. > > When I played this videos, I did get a message that says somehting like > that > "format being converted to Vista Basic colour scheme' (Not exact wording). > Does this effect the video resolution? > > Thanx in advance. > > L & L |

| | Re: RealPlayer & Windows Media Players resoltuion Did you get that message when playing back in Windows Media Player with RealPlayer completely shut down? What file types are these? What video card do you have with what video card driver version? (dxdiag.exe on your system can help you get that information.) What score does your video card get on the Windows Experience Index? -- Speaking for myself only. See http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
