| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Two questions: default save folder, Control Panel View Details 1. Some Windows applications have 'default save folders' assigned to them. For example, Paint has 'Pictures' as its default save folder. I do not live in Communist China, and therefore I should be able to select the default save folder for each application. For example, I should be able to decide whether Paint will by default save to 'Pictures' or 'C:\' or 'C:\Images\'. The choice should be mine to make. Now, there are some Communist sympathizers out there who say I should be content with browsing to my preferred folder every single time I save a file. I should be happy, they say, that I am free to click 'Save as' and browse from the default save folder ('Pictures') to my preferred folder ('C:\Images\'), tediously repeating this process again and again throughout my degraded and servile life. But I insist that these cowering bootlickers have betrayed the sacred cause of liberty and made a dishonorable peace with tyranny. In sum: how can I change the default save folders for my applications in Vista? 2. Time and again, Control Panel opens with 'Medium Icons'. But I prefer 'Details'. How can I make it so that Control Panel always and forever opens with 'Details'? Thank you for your assistance. |

| Vista Ultimate 32-bit | Re: Two questions: default save folder, Control Panel View Details I haven't been able to find any way of having MSPaint, for example, default to a particular Save As location. So no help on your question 1. But see this Vistax64 tutorial for help on your question number 2: Windows Explorer Folder View settings |
