Vista - Corrupt Nero 7 Backup file

URGENT HELP NEEDED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have recently backed up muy laptop files using Nero backup and have tried
to restore them onl;y to find that I can't.

Is there a tool that will allow me to access this type of file other than
Nero backup. I need to recover sone datat from the file urgently.

Not true. Like many programs, Nero has many versions.

I'm using Nero 8 and it is definitely Vista-compatible.

Correct. But Nero 7 is definitely flakey and problematical...even with the
updates.

I know that. The OP seemed to think that ALL Nero versions have
problems.

IIRC, Nero 7.5 was the first version to be somewhat compatible with Vista...

I'm not technical don't know these things
had just noticed it by reading these sites
my vista (my first computer) did not come w/Nero
and the Nero's I've seen in XP did not work

Somewhat? Did you try to upgrade from 7.5 to 8? IT WILL NOT WORK!!! You
have to use Nero Cleaner to even get near using an upgrade that you are
entitled to...and even then, it fails on certain programs. In Vista, I
found I had to buy a totally NEW version 8.

Roxio is even worse...but that would take a very long reply.
