Terminal Services Service Error 1079 on Vista Business

Hi,

I am using Vista Business SP1. After I change the permission for
termsrv.dll for some testing, my 'Terminal Services' no longer work.

When I try to start the 'Terminal Services' in my computer, I get the
follow error:
==========================================================================
Windows could not start the Terminal Services service on Local Computer.

Error 1079: The account specified for this service is different form the
account specified for other services running in the same process.
==========================================================================

So I go to the check the termsrv.dll security details, and I find that
'TrustedInstaller' is no longer in the permission list and also is not
the owner of the file.

My question is, how can I put the 'TrustedInstaller' back to the
permission list and as owner as before as I cannot find
'TrustedInstaller' in the owner list. And make 'Terminal Services'
working again.

Cheers,

Tao

Re: Terminal Services Service Error 1079 on Vista Business

Hi

After I follow the follow link
(TrustedInstaller - Restore as Owner),
I can change back termsrv.dll owner to 'TrustedInstaller'. But I still
get the same 1079 error.

Anything else I need to do for make my 'Terminal Services' working again?

Cheers,

Tao
