Computer is constantly freezing - Dell inspiron 531

I have a Dell Inspiron 531 that I purchased last Christmas. Recently it
has been freezing often and the only way I am able to correct it, is to
hold my power button and restart because it is completely frozen. I'm
not sure what is happening but Speedfan tells me that it is 36-37c.
Could this be the problem? I have an external fan blowing inside of it
but it doesn't seem to be doing much.

Any help would be great, Thanks

I know this does not fix the problem, but gives you an alternete to get out
of the situation. Try hitting Ctrl-Alt-Delete & if the menu comes up hit
Esc.

37 degrees C is 130 degrees F and the CPU should be able to operate at that
temperature.
How much hard drive space do your have free?
When was the last time you ran disk cleanup?
I just fixed a Dell that had lost control on the Temp Internet File cache.
(over 20 GB of TIFs)
It would freeze frequently until we removed the 20 GB of TIFs. (which took
over 8 hours to delete)

When you experience the freeze check the time on your system write it down restart the pc and at start search type "ev" which will bring up event viewer go into event viewer and see which module failed at the time you recorded this will enable you to single out the error. Post the error if you aren't familiar with the information and we can help you from there on.
