Shockwave incompatability

Shockwave invaded my Vista laptop in July of 2008 and since then I cannot run MSN Jigsaw. (Games - Comics, Games, News of the Weird - MSNBC.com) I have removed Shockwave and tried to reload it, but all I get is a panel which says "Shockwave is loading". It never completes. It worked fine before the "update". I am running 32 bit home version. I have the accursed Windows Live One Care installed. (It is going away after the subscription expires. It is a gigantic pain in the a$$ and is incompatable with AdAware. AdAware always finds bugs that One Care misses.)

I found one page which had totally incomprehensible IT level instructions for repairing the load.

Is there a simple fix that me, Joe Public, can install?

The simple name for Joe Public is Flash Player!
Or Shockwave Flash Player to name it properly.

Follow instructions on uninstall link above, then reinstall from Adobe site
link below.
Untick the Google toolbar option before you download it.

Re: Shockwave incompatability

Thanx for the instructions.

I followed your directions, but when it starts to download Shockwave, I get a message that says "Internet has been disconnected", then everything shuts down.

Thanx anyway.
