A Question Firefox Support Wasn't Able to Answer

I have already taken this matter up with Firefox Support; unfortunately, the
only type of support they offer is either posting a question in the official
Forum or in attempting to participate in an online discussion with one of
their volunteer support staff.... none of whom were able to answer this
question. So I thought I would post it here.

Every time I close Firefox, it clears the private data. When I reopen
Firefox and visit particular password-protected sites — such as the Wall
Street Journal — I'm always taken to the password login page. (Thankfully
Firefox has remembered my passwords.)

Going to the Options section of Firefox, I notice that the checkbox
associated with clearing private data every time I close Firefox is NOT
checked.

Why then is Firefox choosing to erase all of my private data every time I
close the program?

Husky,

Firefox 3: I would leave the box checked to clear private data when you
close Firefox, the click on Settings... at the right and choose the spcifice
data that you would want erased. There are 8 choices.
