Needs to validate?

When I started up (installed Vista RC1 yesterday) it said that, 'An
unauthorized change was made to the liscense' and that 'To keep my system
stable' I have to validate online. There is no validation tool for Vista that
I could work.

As a result, I cannot do ANYTHING but go online. I haven't seen anybody else
with this problem- any ideas?

RE: Needs to validate?

When I called support with the same issue they had me boot into safe mode, go
into msconfig via the run option and removed the checks next to all non
microsoft items in the services tag and all items in the start up tab. I then
re-booted, logged into my account and ran a clean install of vista. Works
great now!!!

You can get the support number from the Genuine Validation page that you get
to during the failure your speaking of. They were VERY helpful!!!

RE: Needs to validate?

I called the number for support on the genuine validation page when that
happened to me and they got me up and running. Just had to start in safe
mode, type "msconfig" and press enter, then disable all non-microsoft
services and everything in the start up tab.

Once that is done reboot, log in and do a cllean install of vista from your
cd.
