How do I change the default endnote number format?

I work in publishing and must access manuscript files all day. Our
preferred style for endnote numbering is:

1, 2, 3, etc.

Not:

i, ii, iii, etc., which is the default numbering format of Vista for my
endnotes.

How do I change the default numbering format so that any time I open a
document, all endnotes revert to this style?

I have searched for an answer and not been successful. Thanks for any
tips.

Word 2007, which we have to assume you are referring to, is not part of
VISTA.
You would best direct your question to a Word or Office 2007 newsgroup.

However, if your select your first endnote number, right mouse click and
choose endnote options.
There you will find your number format option.

No, i, ii, iii, etc. is not the default numbering format of Vista, because
Vista has no default numbering format.

Vista is an operating system. Operating systems don't have default numbering
system for endnotes, because operating systems don't do endnotes. Endnotes
are produced by whatever word processer you happen to be using.

So it's best to ask your question in a newsgroup devoted to whatever word
processor you happen to be using (perhaps Microsoft Word?). Because that's
where the experts in that word processor hang out, you are much more likely
to get the help you need there than here.
