| | Vista Search vs. WMP11 search My music folder now stands at 200GB. With default settings Vista search will index this. If I exclude this location will it affect the search facility in WMP 11 in any way. Then I could do all my music searches from within WMP 11, and search for everything else with Vista search, thereby reducing Vista's index (and indexing time) massively. Any flaws with this plan? Does the search facility in WMP 11 depend on Vista search at all? Best Regards Baz |

| | Re: Vista Search vs. WMP11 search I thought the player used its own Media Library (.WMDB), since it wouldn't find the non-media-centric indexer indexes too interesting... ? -- Speaking for myself only. | | RE: Vista Search vs. WMP11 search I don't index my external hard drive, but that's where my WMP media library is and it's instant. WMP will index your stuff separately from Windows Search, so your plan is OK. "Baz" wrote: Quote: > My music folder now stands at 200GB. With default settings Vista search will > index this.
