What does Vista do all the time?

Sorry for the whine... I love Microsoft as a company, and esp their products,
but I am really struggling to use Vista: it appears that most of what it does
I never need it to do, and I feel like I am at the whim of the operating
system, and not that it is here to serve me and make my job more productive.

I don't know how long I can continue to use this OS, so I hope you can
improve it with the next service pack. Basically, asks your testers to
determine how much of the memory/cpu/disk usage is related to user actions,
and how much is related to Vista activity. I think you'll find it very
surprising.

Also, I cannot use Vista to go line when mobile, because I have no control
over what has access to my internet connection, which is an extremely limited
resource when provided via a mobile phone; I come at the bottom of the
priority pool from Vista's perspective

Microsoft, please change your focus with this OS, and make it what it
deserves to be; the world’s best user experience!

Re: What does Vista do all the time?

Well wff you really did'nt supply near enough information to help you.

What kind of problems are you having exactly?

Is this a laptop or workstation(desktop) computer?

What brand of system is it? Sony? Dell? HP?

What version of Vista are you running? Home Basic? Home premium? Ultimate?

32bit OS? 64bit OS?

We would love to help you because Vista will perform the way you think it should. But without the proper information your just ranting.

Vista "does" work. I got 10 systems here, and setup an average of 3 new ones everyday that proves that statement. The Vista haters are the ones wilth no technical prowse and can barely run XP without putting their own eye out.

So a little more info next time.

Ok?

Most of what it does is just sit and await instructions. Put your CPU Meter
on
the sidebar. Unless the computer is booting or I'm engaged in doing
something,
it looks like the attached.

Now, if yours shows activity all the time, you'll have to determine the
cause.

Please ignore self-appointed moderator.

You are the only one who provided assistance in an easy-to-understand way.
Pictures are used when appropriate to help others to understand the context,
which is what you did.

Many people in this newsgroup live in their own world and you don't need to
take their words seriously.

Are you sure about that? Which world do you live in?

I also found it misleading in some way, and it should be:

You are the only one in this thread who provided assistance and in an
easy-to-understand way.
