For the icons if you mean on your desktop go to the following: right click
on an open spot then -> Then select view. You can adjust the size there. The
classic icon is the smallest I believe. As far as the problems with
permissions, someone else will have to answer.

For folder permissions you should generate a special administrator
account besides your own account with administrator privileges. This
sounds ridiculous, but it does work. You can find details by Googling
for "Vista Forums" and searching there.

Left click on the desktop.

Hold down the Ctrl key, and then roll the mouse wheel.

Thanks to all who helped.
Yes I now look like an idiot, right clicking the desktop was the LAST thing
i'd thaught of.
ALL problems now sorted
