Vista - Windows Media Centre - Video Card with Miltiple Inputs

Hi,

I am using Vista's Media Centre and I have a video card with two separate
inputs. On the first input I have basic cable, which works fine with the
guide and all. On the second input, I have my PS3/BluRay hooked up through my
component connection.

I can make each of the inputs work one at a time, but I cant make them work
simultaneously and switch inputs to alternate between the two of them. If I
set up the PS3 to work, I have to click on Live TV in order to access it and
it erases all the settings for the cable. If I set up the cable to work,
there is no longer any way to access the other input (ps3).

Is there a way I can alternate between the two inputs with the press of a
button? I would like to have the option of leaving the cable/guide set up and
then alternate to input2 without having to change any settings. (similar to
the tv/video button on the typical tv).

Not being able to mix sources is a annoying problem that Windows Media
Centre has. Apparently the new Windows Media Centre TV Pack 2008 sorts this
out, but it is only going to be made available through OEM media centre
computers.

It sounds like you are in the UK, as you spelled Centre correctly, so have
you got a DVB-T tuner for Freeview? If you have, you could try using a
better replacement, like DVBViewer.

There is also SageTV, but is a lot more expensive, and does network
streaming, like BeyondTV (which does not work with DVB cards).

Interesting observation about the spelling. However, although I know how to
spell, I'm not in the UK.

I'm located in Canada and not really sure which type of tuner I have. I'm
thinking of trying out DVB Tuner, but will it work in Canada given our signal
type? Also, I'd really rather stick with Media Centre as I have a lot
integrated into it and I'd like to avoid any unnecessary costs.

Any solutions for this? I understand that the TV pack for MC will not be
available on previous versions of vista, but what if I were to use an OEM cd
with my current cd key - would that work?

You can probably see that I'm not a wiz with this tech stuff.
