Re: why does sp1 want to reinstall?

Hi.

Go to Control Panel, Check for updates, Change Settings.

Dot "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download or install them." Click OK.

Click "Check for Updates" on the left of the screen. Then when it has found them, click "View Updates", right click the SP1 it is trying to install and select Hide Update.

This won't solve the question of why it doesn't think you have already installed SP1, but at least it won't keep trying to install.

To make sure it really is installed, hit the windows and break keys together and the System window will pop up. Under the heading "Windows Edition" it should say Service Pack 1.

Post back to us whether it does or not and someone should be able to help.
