Anyone using TVAnts in Vista Home Premium

TVants is an online live tv program.
Previously it works fine in my xp, but not in vista.

Some guys in forum said vista does not allow any p2p program, and most live
tv program such as tvants, pplive etc.
Anyone have some clue?

p/s: i used tvants to watch beijing oplympics in another pc with xp and it
worked well !

Had you been using the hack to allow XP SP2 to have unlimited network
connections?

Re: Anyone using TVAnts in Vista Home Premium

i have read some article on this (increasing allowable network connection)
before, not not sure how to do this.
do you have any good article on this ?
And secondly, what is the drawback and risk on performing this?

There are no drawbacks. MS did this in SP2 for XP to make it harder for
worms to propagate through the internet from XP machines. This is obviously
not something that they did with the server versions.

When I was using Vista on the desktop (I only use it as on my HTPC now), I
could not find a way to increase the connection limit in Vista, but that was
over a year ago since I stopped using it, so there may be known ways by now.

Unless this you did this hack on your XP machine, this will not be the
reason for your problem.

Search Event Viewer for EventID 4226:

"TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent
TCP connect attempts."

If you have that in your event log, then you do have this problem occurring.
There does seem to be patches for this. Here's one, but I have not tried it
myself.
