| | Aero Glass theme in RC1 - where is it? I installed RC1, but cannot find the Aero Glass theme everyone is talking about. Is it not included in RC1? |

| | Re: Aero Glass theme in RC1 - where is it? Yes, RC1 has it. If you mean in the themes menu it's name is just "Windows Vista". | | Re: Aero Glass theme in RC1 - where is it? Aero is the theme. Glass is the 3D effects everyone talks about. Aero Glass is the Aero theme rendered in 3D with transparency effects, etc. To get Aero Glass you need to have a WDDM compliant video card and a WDDM compliant driver for that card. Without knowing what video card you have no one can say if your system supports Glass. However, if you look in the top middle of the Welcome Screen you should see "WDDM" after the video card name. If you don't then your card does not support Glass. | | Re: Aero Glass theme in RC1 - where is it? I have Vista RC1 X86 I think I'm getting all the glass effects. I have transparent windows and gagets. Also I get the tumbnails on the minimized windows and the 3d flip. But it does not say WDDM after the video card. I just says "NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500" The Video card has 256 meg and the computer has 1 Gig of RAM. The chipset is NForce 3 with AMD X64. I downloaded and installed the Forceware 96.33 drivers. Is there a problem or in this case is it just not saying its WDDM? "Colin Barnhorst" wrote: > Aero is the theme. Glass is the 3D effects everyone talks about. | | Re: Aero Glass theme in RC1 - where is it? If you are getting Glass then there is a bug in the reporting of the status of the card. I would file the bug as "my card is incorrectly reported as not being WDDM compliant when in fact I get Glass."
