Akimbo/Remote Record

I have tried to install both programs, following the instructions to the
letter in both cases and I recieve error messages. The errors are below:

Akimbo says that I need to make sure that I have an internet connection, be
an administrator, have Javascript & Active-X enabled and install .NET
Framework 1.1. I have met all of the above conditions and still cannot
install. NOTE: When I installed NF 1.1 to install Akimbo, Media Centre
stopped working and I had to reinstall Vista (Build 5600). Can anyone offer
assistance?

Remote Record almost gets through the entire install before displaying a
general error that the program ended earlier than expected and then an error
message of "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this
package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is
2869." Can anyone offer help here?
