Hello,
I would agree with Malke. System Restore is better than any other ideas I
can think of, when the Startup Repair cannot work in some situations.
However, we have some other methods to resolve some common problems caused
by an unsuccessfully applied update package, such as the unbootable
computer. Just for your reference, you can take a look at the following
article:
The update is not installed successfully, you receive a message, and the
computer restarts when you try to install an update in Windows Vista:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949358
As I mentioned above, I would highly suggest that you always try System
Restore first. If you want to try the methods listed in the above article,
please pay more attention.
Good luck.
Sincerely,
George Yin
