Vista - filetype

I cannot change the filetype for ftp, http, https protocols in vista rc1! It
does not give the option to in default programs > set assocations. I want to
use firefox as default browser but it won't let me!

Hi Chad,

You should first Click on the 4th option - Set program access and computer
defaults and expand Custom. Choose a default web browser as Mozilla Firefox
and click on ok.

Then when you goto Associate a file type or protocol with a program, you
will find the filetype for ftp, http, https protocols will show Firefox as
the default browser.

That did not work at all. I had already set firefox as default browser, it
reset itself back to IE!

Strange ! Did you check Programs tab in Internet Options for Default Browser
- Make Default or Tell me if IE is not the def.. web brow..

You can also try to check from Firefox Options, Default browser and click
Check now and click YES when it promts.
