Can't wake from sleep mode

I have an ASUS P5W-DH board. When I install 2 x 2 GB memory, the computer
runs perfectly fine, except that it cannot wake from sleep. When pressing
the power button after sleep, it powers up but does not display anything on
the screen. It just seems to hang. When I try any combination of memory
that is less than 4 GB, ie 2 x 1 GB, 2 x 512MB, 4 x 512 MB or even (2 x 1 GB
+ 2 x 512 MB), everything works fine. I've tried the 2 x 2 GB in an ASUS
P5B-VM and it sleeps just fine. I've even tried a fresh Vista Home Premium
install and still can't get it to boot with 4 GB. Besides the obvious (like
just run with 3 GB), is ther anything I could do to make this combination
wake properly from sleep mode.

Thanks,

Henry

I have the same motherboard (Asus P5W DH Deluxe), and always had problems
with Sleep in Vista, before I moved Vista onto my HTPC instead. As I took
Vista off it over a year ago, I do not know of the situation has changed.

There have been many BIOS updates for this enthusiast board, as it is pretty
old, from the Pentium-D days, and which can still use the latest top of the
range quad Core 2 at full FSB speed. Just shows how advanced and flexible
it was and still is.

Try a new BIOS version:
