| | Microsoft Access/ODBC Administrator I'm trying to add Microsoft Access (.mdb) to the system dsn, under the ODBC Administrator in a new computer running Vista. We purchased them and installed Microsoft Office 2007. We have a database that runs off Microsoft Access, and we NEED to set this up under the system dsn, in order to switch it over to the new computer. We've tried re-installing the Microsoft Office software, but it did nothing new. The software seems to be working fine, we just don't have that option in the system dsn. Any advice on how we can have that option in the system dsn list? |

| Vista Business 32 Bit | Re: Microsoft Access/ODBC Administrator Sorry I do not have a reply but I have a similar problem. I have tried to create a System DSN and a User DSN on my Vista Laptop for an MS Access database I was using for a back end for a simple intranet system which uses Coldfusion as the front end. My intranet system worked fine on XP machines but when I copied the software and database to my Vista laptop the Coldfsusion datasource continued to work although it pointed to an ODBC link that did not exist whilst the ODBC links I created in Vista did not work. I thought it may have been a Coldfusion/Vista issue but your issue suggests it is something to do with how Vista handles ODBC links in general. |
