Looking for bootable recovery software

Hi All,

I am looking for bootable recovery software that can restore a bootable
partition that got corrupted. Any recommendations are appreciated. I checked
with Acronics and it does not repair a corrupted partition.

Thanks,

Eric

Re: Looking for bootable recovery software

Hi Eric,

Do you mean something like GParted that you can use to boot in and reformat, or use to make a partition active, or are you after something like a bootable version of checkdisk ?

SourceForge.net: GParted

PC Pro: Computer Shopper Labs:

Using GParted to Resize Your Windows Vista Partition :: the How-To Geek

You might try freebie Seatools for DOS - you can download it and make a bootable cd - it can check for and repair bad sectors

Seagate Technology - SeaTools

Or you could try UBCD but it's tricky to configure

PC World - Six Downloadable Boot Discs That Could Save Your PC

Hope this helps

In case the boot secion is corrupted, and looking to see what tools are out

If you have a CD burner and an XP installation CD, then use this page to build "The Ultimate Boot CD for Windows". It's AWESOME!!
