| Vista Home Premium 32bit | System restore not creating daily points Hello everyone - I have searched elsewhere in vain for an answer to this problem with due diligence, so now I turn to this august body... I have an HP Paviliion laptop with Vista Home Premium (original, non-SP1) on a 160 GB HD. I decided to inspect my System Restore points for the first time since purchasing this system, and was suprised to discover that there were no restore points listed. Not being an expert on Vista's implementation of System Restore, I did some research on line and found the following: - no "view older than 5 day" button - 7 gigs available to shadow copies, 300 MB allocated, 46 MB used - I can create points manually - the Task Scheduler has an entry to run TS daily @ 12:00 AM - perusal of Event View entries shows that TS seems to run at the scheduled time, but...no points Thanks in advance for any help... | VISTA HOME PREMIUM X64/ 7 x64 / 7x86 | Re: System restore not creating daily points Hi, You might like to check out this excellent tutorial , see Step 12 System Restore Task - Change Automatic Restore Point Schedule You might check what points you have , eg if you have one for yesterday , the day before etc. it may be deleting the old ones before the normal default time - as I recall the default setting for this is 90 days. Hope it helps SIW2 |
