Re: Norton Ghost 10.0

Hi Basil,
I looked but did not see it there. While I was there I also didn't see my Video card NVIDIA 7300 LE they did have the
7300GS.

Getting back to my problem:
I have two backups on my computer and they have problems
The MS Backup stored 17 GB but said there were files missing and didn't say what. I don't have a Floppy drive only and
External and don't know if that backup will work in NTFS Command Line.

My second backup is a Western Digital that came with my 500 GB external HD but that only copied 13. GB

I have a total of 24 GB on my C:\Windows XP drive. That's why I was asking about Norton Ghost to see if it would backup
everything.

Re: Norton Ghost 10.0

Hmmmmm... So according to that list Drive Image 7 and Norton Ghost 9 work on
Beta 2 and later. I never bothered to try them out. Guess I better get busy.

Re: Norton Ghost 10.0

I see that for Norton Ghost but if you go down the page it also says it has problems on 5472. If I am reading this
right. I didn't see anything yet on RC1.
I don't know if I should buy the NG v10 although I mainly want it to backup XP but don't know if it will do a complete
backup.

Re: Norton Ghost 10.0

The problems with Ghost and 5472 are running the 32 bit software under the
64 bit OS.

Re: Norton Ghost 10.0

Oh, OK I didn't know that. I really don't know how to read this site.
How long does it take until they start putting data for RC1?

Drive Image 7 won't even install. It doesn't surprise me that it doesn't
work, though. I wouldn't expect Ghost 10 to work either. Those types of
utility programs are so tied into the OS that with all the changes in Vista,
I wouldn't expect it to work.

I strongly doubt it. It probably won't even install. If you have it
installed on your XP installation then run the Vista Upgrade Advisor from
within that installation. It will probably tell you it's a problem. Low
level system utilities like usually need to be re-written.

Re: Norton Ghost 10.0

Hi Rock,
What I am going to do is use Partition Magic to create a mirror of my Win XP. That way if I have a problem like the ones
I see here with the OS getting corrupt I can just replace it.
What do you think?
