Vista Ultimate OEM Activation

Did they change the policy for re-activation of Vista Ultimate OEM?

What I mean is last year I built myself a new computer and installed
Vista Ultimate OEM. I had some issues that I could not resolve so I
went back to XP.

About 2 months ago I lost main hard drives (I had a Raid 0 setup) and
another drive due to a storm. They were the only hard drives in the
computer. I upgrade to a newer drive, this time only a single drive in
the system. I re-installed Vista again to play around wth it. I am
actually happy with this install of Vista. My devices are working. I
dont notice any difference between the Raid setup and the single
drive.

I thought I was going to have to call to get Vista re-activated. To my
surpise online activation went smoothly.

Bill

hi bill,
as far as I am aware the change of one major component would not normally cause any problems with activation, most occur when updating a motherboard which of course is not one component these days but a set of them in a single physical package.
