| | auto play not opening usb storage Hi, I used to open usb storage devices by choosing an option from a menu when I inserted my usb device. Now autoplay doesn't open these storage devices and I have to open my computer and access the folders from there. I have tried changing autoplay settings but still not working. Maybe there's a box that I haven't ticked or something. My media center also won't open videos but will play DVDs. Can someone help? Thanks |

| | Re: auto play not opening usb storage Usually that is caused by bad entries in the registry. Locations like (but not exactly) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\DeviceClasses\{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}\##?#USBSTOR#Disk&Ven_OLYMPUS&Prod_FE210#X775&Rev_1.00#X61047734#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b} HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\Vid_07b4&Pid_0109\X61047734 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USBSTOR\Disk&Ven_OLYMPUS&Prod_FE210/X775&Rev_1.00\X61047734 You can try exporting and deleting those type of entries, and see if it helps. If not run the exported ?.REG files to restore the registry entries. -- Please use the Communities guidelines when posting. http://www.microsoft.com/wn3/locales...help_en-us.htm Use the "Ratings" feature.
