Vista - Need help with folder options please

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could help, I'm using Vista and quite
familiar with it already but it is giving me some trouble. It may be
just machine but maybe someone has experienced same problem and can help
me.

I am having difficulties changing folder options? it sounds strange but
its true. For example, I want to view file extentions, but when i got
Tools, Folder Options, View and Advance settings, i UNCHECK the box for
Hide Extention files, but for some reasons nothing changes?

Can anyone help? is there some settings i've got that wont allow me to
change settings??

Hi Beestar,

It may be that you need to look at the settings for Remember each folders view settings, and Restore previous folder view at logon. You also need to Apply and OK any changes.

thanks for your response SIW2, I had done what you suggested, checked
both Remember each folder settings and Restore, both they stay checked
or unchecked when I do check and uncheck them BUT ONLY Hide extention
known files dont change? this is strange and is really bugging me. I've
followed a tutorial how to delete a NeverShowExt value in the registry
and this has no effect on it? so so strange..
