| Vista Home Premium | Adding Program to list of Selected programs I am a website designer and this is my first post and frankly I am getting very close to throwing in the towel and Vista with it and returning to XP. (I notice today via Zednet that MS has announced a further extension to XP support and is accelerating its Windows 7 OS.) However before abandoning Vista as I have so much time already invested in this so called "upgrade" I found this forum and thought well why not give them a go at trying to solve my problem(s). Vista frustrates me because it tries to rule my computing experience and removes from me much of my control. In this case I use older programs such as Paint Shop Pro 7 (much easier to use than Paint Shop X but I can not find away of making the file formats I need (.jpg and .gif) associate with this program try as I may Vista stubbornly insists the files shoud be opened by ADobe Fireworks which I use infrequently. I have looked at trying to use the add default programs to form the file format associations but Vista only favours a number of programs in its list of programs to choose from so does anyone know how to add to this rather rare list. I look forward to your replies and thanks in advance. |

You can use Default Programs to set the individual file extension types to Open With the Paint Shop Pro 7 .exe file as the current default program instead. This tutorial will help show you how to. Default Programs Hope this helps, Shawn |
