Vista - closing lid

hello,
i have a problem when i close my lid!
the display turns off.. sometimes i hear a sound like a device is removed
(maybe my usb mouse or the display itslef?)
now the problem: when I reopen my lid nothing hapens.. the display doesn't
turn on! so I can only shut down by pressing the turn off button..

There is a problem with sleep on Vista.
Go into power options and you can change the option for closing the lid.
You can change it for example from sleep to do nothing.

I did already choose "do nothing"..
by closing the lid.. just the display turns off.. but by reopening it
doesn't turn on..
I already set "shut down" when pressing the powerbutton.. that still works
although the display is black..
