Vista - You need permission to perform this action

You need permission to perform this action is the message when I try and
delete a folder so how can I delete the folder?

If you need permission to delete the folder the 'permission' box should have
a 'continue' button. Pressing continue should take you through the various
User Account Controls to enable you to delete the folder, i.e., if necessary
asking for the administrator password.

If this isn't happening then try right clicking Windows explorer (start>all
programs>accessories>Windows Explorer) and select the 'run as administrator'
option.

Since we don't know the source of your folder, try to gain Full Control of
the folder by right clicking folder > Properties > Security and set the
correct parameters for Full Control. Also, you can try to delete the folder
by drilling down to the files and start deleting from there.

I'm admin on my machine but am unable to write to winSxS, or edit permissions as far as I can tell, is this the same problem?

i have an installer file, that i trust as it worked on xp pro, that wants to write to winsxs but i get this error message

Cannot create the following directory:
C:\Windows\WinsSxS\x86_Microsoft.VC80.ATL_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50.727.42_x-ww_6e805841

so i tried to create the dir manually but i dont have permission even running explorer as administrator with uac turned off.
For some reason I am unable to set it to full control.
