It still draws power
but not much...

Maybe 25 watts or so

Re: power consumption?

Mine draws 6W in sleep, which is the same as when it is switched off. Only
by unplugging it does it go to zero.

In sleep mode the CPU, drives, and video are off, but the motherboard
clock is still running to keep the memory refreshed. It still consumes
power, but not much more than powered off, plugged in. When the system
is powered off the mouse, keyboard, or LAN could still be powered, to
perform wake-up functions, depending on their BIOS settings.

Re: power consumption?

unless you pull the plug or turn off the power strip, the machine will draw
between 25-40W in sleep/hibernate mode or 6-10W when 'off'.

Pphooyyyyeeeeeee !!!!!!!!

Hibernate is like OFF you imbecile, windows just writes the data from the
ram to the disk and turns off!

you can unplug it for a week, then plug it back in, turn it on, and it will
restore the state from hibernation!

Gesh!
