spyware

Dear: All...

Windows Defender got rid of a spyware that I picked up some how!?? , but
now, I am still having the following issue with my system... At start up
after I log in.. The following error message appears

Title of the windows is "Run DLL"
Error message : the specified module can not be found
"C:windows/system32/KhfDuTkc.dll"

I ran windows defender, and it did not pickup anything.. I also have
Kaspersky and it also did not find anything..

But this is one of the two files that windows defender original found as
spyware..

Where can I look and fix as to what is trying to load this DLL?

Re: spyware

Start - Regedit

Search for KhfDuTkc and remove the entries... if in doubt COPY and
PASTED the entries in here for Advice before deletion.

Make a Restore Point before any editing.

Hi,

Suggest you try to make sure it is completely gone with a couple of free tools

Malwarebytes.org

and

a-squared Free (formerly a² free) Freeware! A2 is a free of charge Anti-Trojan, Anti-Worm, Anti-Dialer and Anti-Spyware Software - optimal protection

to prevent these things getting on in future you might like to use the free Avast home edition as your resident antivirus / malware app.

avast! antivirus - high security and protection from malware with anti-spyware and anti-rootkit software built in

Hope that helps

Download Malwarebytes..

www.malwarebytes.org

Install it..

Reboot into safe mode

Run Disk Cleanup to remove Temp Internet Files and any other crap (use
default settings)

Run Malwarebytes

Follow instructions to remove bad stuff after it has finished checking..

Reboot to regular mode..

Now run Malwarebytes again..

And they won't, because the file is gone. What's left is the reference to
it.

Go to Start, run, type msconfig, press Enter. On the Startup tab, look for
anything that includes that text. Note the location, and you can go there
and remove it.

Re: spyware

Use RegEdit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Look there - search the registry for it as I said.
