10 Things I Hate About Vista

Top 10 things I hate about Vista

10 - Dialog boxes keep popping up, even after I click "do not show me this
message again"

9 - When I connect my digital camera, Vista automatically opens MS Word (??)
and then tells me that "Word doesn't support this device" (!!) XP
automatically opened my digital camera software (Zoom Browser) -- now that
was smart.

8 - My printer (a Samsung ML-1740) is apparently not supported. At least,
it didn't work out of the box. The same printer is automatically configured
in LINUX! Jesus! I thought hardware compatibility and ease of use was the
main benefit of Windows! I guess I was wrong. Maybe it's greater access to
viruses and spyware?

7 - It's a power hog. Despite changing the power settings, it still kills
my notebook battery at least 30% faster than XP.

6 - It commonly drops my wireless network connection, which I cannot get
back without rebooting. I very rarely lost this connection in XP, and never
had to reboot to reconnect.

5 - My hard drive seems to be in use continuously, even when the system is
idle. WHY?

4 - My bluetooth, integrated camera and fingerprint reader are recognized by
the system and "working properly" according to device manager, but they don't
work at all.

3 - Often after resuming, my sound card hangs, producing a continuous
"skipping" noise. In order to fix this, I have to reboot.

2 - Vista keeps telling me that it's "blocked some startup programs" but
won't let me unblock these programs manually. It also won't let me suppress
or ignore this message, it keeps popping up!

1 - MS doesn't offer a way to revert to XP (even though the installation
process spends a lot of time copying my old XP files to windows.old -- what's
the point of backing up old system files if there's no way to undo the
upgrade??)

I can't believe that MS calls this a "release candidate." It's terrible.
If you're thinking of upgrading, think again. Vista is bulky, unstable, and
as of yet I haven't discovered any features that make it worth the trouble.
Stay away!

(In case any developers at MS are reading this, I'm using a Vaio SZ-120 P/B
notebook, with all of the standard hardware. I hope, for your sake, that you
can build a better product.)
