Right sidebar on desktop

How is the sidebar that keeps popping up on the right hand side of the
desktop gotten rid of? It covers the icons I use on that side which, unlike
in XP, will not stay where I place them.

Re: Right sidebar on desktop

Hello,

If you just want to turn off Windows Sidebar, then this will show you how to.

Windows Sidebar Startup

You can also have the Sidebar open on the left side of the screen if youl like to. See the screenshot under step 4 in the link above to select that option.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Right sidebar on desktop

Wouldn't it be easier to say: "Right click - go to properties - remove check
from "start with Windows"?

***OR***

Right click - Close sidebar

Instead of sending them to your web page?

This isn't the bar with the gadgets. It's a narrow bar that says "Network"
at the top. I already got rid of the gadget bar.

There is *NO PROPERTIES* when I right-click on this bar in Home Premium.
It's a narrow bar on the left-hand side. The RAM eating Gadget bar was on
the right and was already removed. There is *NO Close Sidebar* when
clicking on this narrow bar.

Re: Right sidebar on desktop

Hello Richard,

Sometimes it is, but the tutorials contain a lot more information that could prove to be helpful. Plus, the screenshots usually help more with what to do.

That's all,
Shawn

Re: Right sidebar on desktop

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this description. Take a look at the example screenshot in this tutorial to see if this is something similar to what you have?

Toolbar for the Desktop

If that is not it above, then could you attach a screenshot of this to help clarify what it is?

Thank you,
Shawn
