vista boot manager.

i downloaded a 3rd party software called "vista boot pro", it works in beta
2 but not in rc1. i got it to manage the vista boot manager so that i can
have an easier time editing it and stuff. does anyone know if there is a
version of it that will work in rc1? or if there is something better that i
can use?

Re: vista boot manager.

What do you mean by "doesn't work"? Please describe any error messages. If
you had a failed or interrupted installation then you may have rogue entries
in the BCD store and you should clean those out. See the Pronetworks
website and in particularaly their forum where I found a lot of help when
VistaBoot Pro couldn't display the BCD store on my computer.

The latest release of VistaBootPro, 2.1, works fine on my system with RC1,
both from within Vista and from XP in multi-boot system. Are you using the
latest version? Have you posted in the VistaBootPro tech support forums? I
have found them to be very helpful.

www.google.com works pretty good.

Re: vista boot manager.

VistaBoot Pro does not work if there are "rogue" entries (entries missing
required data elements). These need to be cleaned up with bcdedit before
VBP can manage the BCD store. The OP could well be seeing this. It is
pretty easy to get a trashy BCD store.
