| | Vista Updates, Error 80070422, Ultimate 32b, Can't enable Update service Hi All, I have been searching the interwebs and filed a support request at MS, but in the meantime, I want to ping some forums to see if anyone has run into this. I now receive error code 80070422 when doing windows updates (vista ultimate 32-bit). I can run regsvr32 wuen.dll (or whatever the dll is) and that temporarily fixes it, but after reboot, the setting doesn't stick. I have tried to download the latest WU redistributable (3.0 ?) and that didn't help. In Services, the Windows Update service is disabled. When I try to set it to Manual or Automatic, I receive an error message. The delayed auto-start flag could not be reset. Error 1072: The specified service has been marked for deletion.
