| | swap file in XP i run without a swap file, and it works fine. in vista it doesn't work well... i keep getting out of memory errors, and eventually all my ram is used (1 GB). i enable the swap files and things go much more smoothly. interesting |

Normally XP will complain and create one anyway. XP's design works around having a page file, even if it's no actually being used.
