| | Vista HP and Excel 2003 registry policy setting I'm trying to open an old wk3 document in Excel 2003 under Vista Home Premium (which I just started using). I get the error message "You are attempting to open a file type that is blocked by your registry policy setting." Such documents opened in Excel 2003 under XP Home. I've looked at support.microsoft.com/kb/922848 and 941636 but haven't seen anything about Vista. Is it possible the registry policy settings are from Vista and not from Excel? I'm a bit afraid to try to modify my registry because it seems like a process that could cause problems, and I also want to make sure that the modifications in the knowledge base are correct for Vista before I attempt anything. I hope this is the correct discussion group -- if not, please let me know if another would be more appropriate. Thank you for any and all help. Baby Boomer |
