Wrong screen vertical and horizontal scale

After I started with Vista, i found this problem in my Autodesk Autocad (a
engineering drafting software):
Even i draw a square, the horizontal line appear long than vertical line on
screen.

I dont think i can do something within Autocad, so im thinking for in
Windows setting.

Any clue?

Re: Wrong screen vertical and horizontal scale

You might try changing the ICON font in the Advanced settings of
Personalizations/Window color.../Open classic...
Another font that may hit that is in the Properties of a CMD window.

It is likely due to the display you are using and the screen resolution
you have set in Windows. For example, if you are using a CRT display
(most of which are designed around a 4/3 width to height aspect ratio)
and you are running Windows in 1280x1024 (an aspect ratio of 5/4),
everything will look a little bit too wide because your pixel dimensions
end up being rectangular. If you switch to 1024x960, everythign will
square up.

Hope this helps!

Re: Wrong screen vertical and horizontal scale

And what exactly does a font have to do with the aspect ratio of a
drawing displayed on a screen?

If you're using a wide-screen monitor, make sure you're using a wide-screen
resolution.

For example a wide-screen resolution would be 1680X1050.
A 4:3 (non wide-screen) ratiio would be 1280X960.
1280X1024 is NOT a proper ratio for anything.

Right-click on a blank area of your desktop.
Choose "Personalize" from the menu.
Choose "Display Settings" from the menu.

Make any adjustments necessary

Did you change screen resolution when you changed to Vista? 1152x864 is
not a native resolution for any LCD displays I've seen. I'd change to
the native resolution and see how it looks.

Interesting statement - my Samsung SyncMaster 915N's native resolution
is 1280x1024. Why would that not be "proper"?
