| | Stuck in the "Updates 3 of 3" Reboot Loop after Service Pack 1 Hi, Trying to fix the mother-in-law's notebook (no jokes, please). Notebook is stuck in a loop where it notifies that it's installing Update 3 of 3. It finishes, momentarily shows the user avatar/login screen, and then immediately reboots. Repeats the process again and again. I googled it and saw several problems noted in the Spring of 2008 related to installation of SP1; I assume that's what this is, too. I tried booting from the Vista Install CD and tried to restore the system from a previous point. Tried numerous different dates, and none of them worked (immediately got notice that the process couldn't go forward). Is there anyone who knows how to fix this one? Thanks. |
