| | External HD not recognised by Vista Just got myself a Fujitsu Storagebird Solo 35-UB 1Tb HD but Windows Vista says unrecognized USB device. It works fine with another XP PC. Siemen-Fujitsu's really helpful advice is to reinstall Vista which would take me a whole day to get this PC which I earn my living on back up and running. Anyone got any other (less drastic) suggestions? |

| | Re: External HD not recognised by Vista I'm surprised it doesn't work. According to the datasheet from Fujitsu (http://sp.fujitsu-siemens.com/dmsp/d...solo_35-ub.pdf) it should be "Plug 'n' Play" for Vista and for XP. | | Re: External HD not recognised by Vista It doesn't work presumably due to some problem with my PC (see thread on sync center stops working despite microsoft fix), I just wondered if there was a way of fixing the PC other than a reinstall of Vista, but it's now looking (according to zach) as though that's the only option to get sync centre working properly and Windows Media Player as well.
