File Open/Save Dialog Box hangs all applications

If I open any Open or Save Dialog box, the application hangs with "not
responding" when I try to click on a file or folder.

Explorer lets me access the files normally.

Any ideas?

RE: File Open/Save Dialog Box hangs all applications

I am having the exact same problem. Fresh install of Vista. I have no
AntiVirus, i have tuned off UAC . I cannot open any files or save any files
in any application, the application just freezes before the dialog opens.
This does not happen in Office because I don't think it uses the windows file
dialog boxes. Anyone have any ideas about this?

What have you tried so far ?

Check to make sure you do not have any network share(s) mapped that no
longer
exist. Also, make sure your PATH does not contain a reference to a network
path that no longer exists. I have seen both of these cause this issue in
XP.

Good luck.
