Re: office word 2007

The Word main executable is winword.exe and is usually found in C:\Program
Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12 for the default install on 64 bit
Windows versions (Windows Pro 64 and Vista 64). It is found in C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 for 32 bit Windows versions (default
install).

A repair install of Office should restore working links. Assure yourself
that your copy is not an expired demo version.

I want to open old Word 2003 documents in Word 2007. Vista did this
originally when installed but somehow this operation has stopped occurring.
When I open a Word 2003 document it eventually opens in Word 2003.
I have tried to re-point it to Word 2007 but it winds up going to 2007
Microsoft Windows Office Component and not the actual exe. file.
Where is the exe. file hidden?

Simple solution: reset the default file for .DOC to W2007.

Another simple solution: uninstall W2003

Then you have a Trial version. OEM,s only load Office as a Trial. Your Trial has expired and that is what is causing your issue

Problem #1: You're not quoting anything in your posts. That is a
huge problem for the majority of people reading, since the majority of
people in these groups use a news reader.

Re: office word 2007

I have XP, 2003 and 2007 .DOC on my PC and have no such problems Word 2007
by default saves to 97-2003 Documents. Have no problem with e-mailing
different versions for Word DOC's using Word 2007
