Vista boots selection ?

Do you know how to set up Vista to boot like we have boot.ini in XP ?
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Vista (1394,ch6)"
/fastdetect /noguiboot /sos /debug /debugport=1394 /channel=6
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Vista (com1)" /fastdetect
/noguiboot /sos /debug /debugport=COM1: /baudrate=115200
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Vista" /fastdetect
/noguiboot

How do we set it

bcdedit -debug on
bcdedit -dbgsettings 1394 channel:6

bcdedit -debug on
bcdedit -dbgsettings serial debugport:1 baudrate:115200

and we can select which one to use ?

Thanks for your help .

Re: Vista boots selection ?

You can use

bcdedit /copy

to make a copies of an existing boot entry and then modify the settings for
each accordingly

bcdedit /? copy
bcdedit /?

The rough sequence would be. Current boot entries ...

bcdedit /enum
bcdedit /enum /v (this shows the ids too)

Make a copy of the current entry .....

bcdedit /copy {current} /d "My New Boot Entry"

This displays a {guid} which you'd then use in the following way to add it
to the boot entry list....

bcdedit /displayorder {guid} /addlast

Then modify its settings using further bcdedit commands eg

bcdedit /set {guid} description "My second boot entry"

You'll have to read the documentation for the rest or google a bit for
examples.

bcdedit /?

Or you can use EasyBCD/VistabootPRO (both FREE).
