UAC takes 10 seconds to show

Hi,

I installed Vista and created admin user and some normal users. It worked
perfectly (UAC showed immidiatelly). I installed some more programs:

Aladdin eToken (USB secure card) and VMWare server.

Now UAC takes 10 seconds to show.

What is UAC looking for? How can I check what is going on?

Damjan

Re: UAC takes 10 seconds to show

Hi Damjan--

I don't have any specific magic want but I'd

1) Run SFC>elevated cmd prompt>type sfc /scannow
2) For sure scan for spyware with Adaware and another of your choice. Vista
has native Defender.
3) Kill services you don't need running @ services.msc in run box
4) Put up task man and kill processes you don't need.
5) You can google or use Black Viper to define processes/services.

Good luck,

CH

Re: UAC takes 10 seconds to show

Could you detail your system specifications? UAC might take a while because
whatever program you triggered is requesting access to write to a secure
part of the system, so it has to determine if the code is malicious or not
or if you actually intended to run it.
