medium icons unstable

Vista SP1: I have chosen "medium icons" on my desktop. Every so often
these icons shrink andI have to choose "small icons" then again "medium
icons" to get them back.

Any ideas?

Do you use large applications, like Photoshop, CAD, 3D stuff, etc, that
means you keep you left hand on CTRL, ALT, SHIFT, SPACE, etc.. Occasionally
I would try to Zoom using CTRL and the mousewheel without realising that the
application in not in focus. Which leads to what you are experiencing. Try
CTRL + mouse wheel on the Desktop.

Well, no! CTRL + mouse wheel on the Desktop doesn't do anything.
